Mullen Automotive Delivers First Electric Truck to New York City Ecology Center

Mullen Automotive Inc. has delivered an all-electric commercial truck to the Lower East Side Ecology Center in New York City, expanding its electric vehicle footprint through a strategic partnership focused on urban sustainability. The Bollinger B4, a Class 4 electric vehicle funded by the NYC Council, is specifically equipped to support composting and environmental programs with its robust 158-kWh battery and 185-mile range designed to meet demanding urban service requirements.

This delivery marks the first electric vehicle for the LES Ecology Center, signaling a transition toward more environmentally friendly transportation solutions for municipal operations. The truck features a 16-foot dry box and power lift gate, offering practical functionality for ecological programs that previously relied on conventional fuel vehicles. The vehicle's deployment comes as Mullen Automotive continues to make significant strides in the commercial electric vehicle market, with production centers operating in Tunica, Mississippi, and Mishawaka, Indiana.

The company began commercial vehicle production in August 2023 and received IRS approval for federal EV tax credits by September 2023, positioning its vehicles for broader market adoption. Mullen's current lineup includes the Mullen ONE, a Class 1 EV cargo van, and the Mullen THREE, a Class 3 EV cab chassis truck, both California Air Resource Board and EPA certified and available for sale across the United States. With the recent expansion of its commercial dealer network to seven dealers, including Papé Kenworth, Mullen is establishing comprehensive sales and service coverage across key U.S. markets.

The company has also secured Foreign Trade Zone status for its Tunica manufacturing center, offering potential benefits such as duty deferment and elimination of export duties that could enhance its competitive position.
